Thursday night the Paradise Adventist Academy Girls Volleyball Team held its senior night prior to its match against visiting ACA and then captured their 4th straight Pioneer Valley League championship with a thrilling 5 set victory over visiting American Christian. The Cougars got off to a slow start, having trouble in their serve receive and from the service line, loosing the first set 25-15. But the Cougars were not to be denied. They came out on top in the 2nd set 25-23. PAA leaned heavily again on its two main weapons, outside hitters, Stacy Wisener who led the way with 15 kills and Lauryn Hieb who put down 9 kills. It was feast or famine from the service line for the Cougars who had 17 errors on the night but also had 18 aces 6 coming from Hieb, and 5 from Freshman Sydney Vaughn. After starting the season 0-5 the Cougars have now won 18 of their last 24 matches. With the regular season ending next week, PAA will look to head into the playoffs with a lot of confidence as they look to defend their division 6 section championship.
